2024 has begun with ill health in the family and a distinct lack of carving activity, but now at Easter as aches and pains ease I can anticipate spending some time in my workshop.

My first priority is to complete a commission started back in October 2023, I do find it testing to re-start a project and pick up where I left off. Carving and texturing are not normally a problem but painting is a different matter, I have to assimilate so much information on colours and technique and in some cases match mixed colours already applied to the carving, it sometimes makes my brain hurt!

Given the current state of the world I shall keep the radio tuned to Classic FM or Radio Three, I find I can’t listen to Radio Four as listening to people speaking distracts me and my concentration fails completely.

Still, Spring is here and the days are getting longer (and warmer) so Onwards ever Onwards!
